Collaborations

The museum has spaces available for individuals, groups, or organisations wishing to display or produce an exhibition or an event.

Collaborations @ People's History Museum

Collaborating with PHM

We receive a large number of requests to collaborate with the museum, from individuals, groups, and organisations with lots of inspiring ideas.  We are keen to collaborate as much as possible, but we are a relatively small team and unfortunately do not have the resources to work with everyone who gets in touch.

What are we looking for?

Opportunities for involvement in People’s History Museum’s (PHM) 2020 programme exploring the theme of migration

In 2020 People’s History Museum (PHM) will launch a year long programme of new exhibitions, events, learning activities and creative collaborations that will explore the theme of migration.  As a museum that is leading the way with co-creation, integrating campaigning into its approach and working with international partners, this programme will be curated in partnership with the communities whose lives have been shaped by migration.  The stories the museum tells will be re-examined through their eyes, creating a rich visitor experience with gallery takeovers, new exhibits, digital installations, banner displays, artistic responses and collaborations.

There are a number of ways to get involved in PHM’s 2020 programme.  Follow this link to find out how to get involved.

If you have any questions or would like more information please email Zofia Kufeldt, Programme Officer on zofia.kufeldt@phm.org.uk or phone 0161 838 9190.

We are also interested in ideas that will help support the following aims of the museum:

  • Raise the profile of PHM so that more people know what the museum is and where it is
  • Do more digital work such as using new technology and engaging with people online
  • Bring income into the museum so that we can do more work in the future
  • Reach out to people who might not have visited the museum before

Sending us your idea

If you are interested in collaborating with us, please send a short email, video message or sound recording to events@phm.org.uk and answer these questions:

  • Who are you?
  • What is your idea?
  • Does your idea need money to do it and if so, roughly how much?
  • When would you like your idea to happen?

Don’t worry if you can’t answer all of the questions above, we can always discuss your idea in more detail at a later stage.

If you are unable to put your idea into an email, video message or sound recording you can call 0161 838 9190 and ask to discuss your idea with a member of the Programme Team.

You can also send us your idea by post to:

Please note that we usually need at least five months’ notice to programme events, projects or activities.

Once a month the Programme Team will review all ideas that have been shared and get in touch to let you know if it’s an idea we think we can work on together.
