PHM-inspired online course

Explore the history of radicalism and reform with 'Peterloo to the Pankhursts', a free-to-join online course developed with Royal Holloway, University of London, available on FutureLearn. See original artefacts and documents from the People's History Museum, the UK Parliamentary Archives and The National Archives and view compelling actor dramatisations of key speeches and testimony to uncover a century long struggle for rights and representation. The course opens by looking at the growth of radicalism at the end of the eighteenth century and the Peterloo Massacre and culminates with the struggle for universal suffrage. Throughout you will be guided by historians, archivists and curators, with additional support from a team of online tutors.

'Peterloo to the Pankhursts', which is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, will next run from Monday 4 May 2020, with enrolment closing on 12 July 2020. The course takes four weeks to complete, requiring approximately five hours study time a week, and is free-to-join on FutureLearn.
