Parliament Week Book Competition | Terms and Conditions

  1. Please read these terms and conditions carefully.  By entering the Parliament Week Book Competition (“The Book Competition”) you confirm that you have read them.  Failure to comply with the terms and conditions may result in your disqualification.
  2. The Book Competition is being run by People’s History Museum (“PHM”) – a registered charity in England.  Charity no: 295260.  Company registration no: 02041438.  PHM’s administrative address is Left Bank, Spinningfields, Manchester M3 3ER, email: enquiries@phm.org.uk.
  3. To enter the Book Competition, you must be a UK resident aged 18+.
  4. The Book Competition is not open to PHM staff, UCLan Publishing or their immediate families.
  5. The winners of the Book Competition will be selected at random by PHM and published on their @phmmcr Instagram account.  PHM’s decision is final, and they will not enter into any correspondence about the result.
  6. The winners of the Book Competition will receive a copy of: ‘How To Be A Revolutionary’.  Written by Lucy Ann Unwin.  Published November 2024.  Paperback | £8.99 | ISBN: 9781915235923.  No cash alternative is available for the prize.
  7. The Book Competition runs from Fri 18 October 2024 until 11.59pm (BST) on Wed 30 October 2024.  Entries submitted after the closing date will not be considered.
  8. You may only enter the Book Competition once.  Entries will be automatically applied to their school booking by email to learning@phm.org.uk.
  9. A school booking is essential to enter the Book Competition.
  10. PHM accepts no responsibility for entries that do not reach us by the closing date, are incomplete or corrupted.
  11. The winners of the Book Competition will be contacted by email.  Entrants must confirm their acceptance of the prize and send relevant contact details to PHM within ten working days of being contacted with the information that they have won.
  12. Any information provided to PHM for the purposes of the Book Competition will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.  Data provided will only be used to administer the Book Competition and will not be stored or used for other purposes unless relevant consent is provided.
  13. Failure by the winner to provide relevant contact information within the timescale specified in advance may result in their prize being forfeited and another winner chosen.
  14. The school name, region of residence and photographs of the Book Competition winners may be used by PHM for reasonable promotional purposes on our website and social media channels.  Where the winner is under 16, parental consent will be sought for any promotional usage.
  15. PHM may disqualify anyone seen to be tampering or interfering with its website or social media channels during the Book Competition.
  16. PHM may at its discretion amend these terms and conditions or offer an alternative prize of equivalent cash value if required.
  17. All activities undertaken to enter the Book Competition are undertaken at the entrants’ own risk.  Your legal rights under English law are not affected.
