2020: exploring migration
Throughout 2020 we invite you to join the national museum of democracy on a year long journey exploring migration, through a programme of events, exhibitions, learning sessions and collaborations co-created by a Community Programme Team made up of people whose lives have been shaped by migration. The programme kicks off with the new banner exhibition in the museum’s main galleries.

2020 Banner Exhibition
Revamping a quarter of the museum’s main galleries, our Conservation Team have been busily preparing this year’s new exhibition of banners. The 2020 Banner Exhibition has been carefully curated to explore the many challenges and opportunities migration presents. The banners’ diverse images, vivid colours and powerful words give life to campaigns in a unique way, with visitors able to explore the stories they reveal throughout the museum’s galleries. Visit the new selection of historic and contemporary banners from Saturday 25 January.

Join our 10th birthday party on Thursday 13 February, a special Radical Late opening to start the celebrations. Show your love for PHM on a Valentine’s Day Radical Relationships guided tour, and enjoy the evening’s Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly gig – a love letter from the band to PHM. Continue the celebrations into the weekend and join an open house at PHM; a bumper day of free activities. Help us celebrate our achievements or come and find out what we’re all about.
