The discussion will be led by Magdalen Bartlett, Founder and CEO of Afrocats, a user-led charity supporting people facing social exclusion in Manchester.
Immigration detention is the government policy of locking up people who do not (yet) have leave to remain in the UK, or whose leave to remain has expired. People are locked up by guards, behind bars and barbed wire. It is a dark part of the UK’s immigration and asylum system.
