Protest for Diversity (2018) is a new display of placards; the result of a collaborative art project with former refugees and migrant members of the Migrant English Project in Brighton and Hove. The exhibition will also include objects, portraits and a collage made from images and extracts of conversations with some of the participants from Gil’s New Union Flag project (2015-2017).
The New Union Flag project is a proposal for an alternative flag. The project captured the imagination and reactions of people across the UK to this
modified version of the Union Jack.
Part of our year long programme exploring the past, present and future of representation, marking 100 years since the passing of the Representation of the People Act (1918) and since all men and some women won the right to vote in Britain.
