81 young interpreters from nine different Rochdale primary schools came together to celebrate their roles and the work they have done to bridge languages and communities.
The children have all effectively promoted bilingualism in their own school and across the local authority.
81 individual pieces of art have been combined to make one final piece; a banner created as an artistic representation of the bridge over the River Roch. The exhibition includes an accompanying bound book containing the original individual artworks.
The children’s artwork symbolises the role that they have played building bridges for newly arrived children migrating into the area.
