Donations to PHM's collection

PHM's collection features an eclectic and colourful mix of historic and contemporary material telling the story of democracy in Britain.

Object donations
If you would like to offer an object for donation to the museum’s collection please email collections@phm.org.uk with photographs of the object and any background information that you have relating to the object.

Unsolicited donations
Please do not send any object donations into the museum without prior agreement by the Collections Manager.  If we are unable to contact the sender within eight weeks of receipt of the object(s), the object(s) will be deemed transferred to the museum and will be dealt with in accordance with the museum’s collecting policy which may include disposal.  Any object which the museum cannot accept for the permanent collection can only be returned at the owner’s expense as the museum does not have sufficient funds to pay for return.

Archive donations
The Labour History Archive & Study Centre is not currently accepting donations of archive material.

General collection or archive enquiries will be accepted; please email enquiries to collections@phm.org.uk or archive@phm.org.uk.

Research visits
Research visits to the Labour History Archive & Study Centre can be booked by emailing archive@phm.org.uk.  Please contact collections@phm.org.uk to enquire about research visits to the museum collection.
