Description
The union was formed in 1872 and amalgamated with the English ASRS in 1892. So the banner was produced at some time between these two dates. In 1913 the ASRS merged with other railway unions to establish the National Union of Railwaymen.

The banner is unusual for its naive style of design and makes an interesting comparison with other more professionally produced banners.

Materials: Single layer banner of wool bunting with printed and painted design on one side.
