Description
The wheatsheaf and the lighted torch are both symbols which were utilised by the Cooperative movement. Here they stand for the benefits and enlightenment of Comradeship, as experienced by the male co-operators of Bermondsey.

The Men's Co-Operative Guild was founded in 1911. It was never as strong a campaigning body as its female counterpart, and its role was very much as a social network for male co-operators. But it did play an important organising role in the political arena. Both the Men's Co-Operative Guild and the mixed-sex National Co-Operators Guild were affiliated to the Co-Operative Party.

Materials: cotton sateen machine embroidered with filament rayon.
