Description
Originally the banner of the National & Local Government Officers Association (NALGO) Humberside, the UNISON logo was added in 1993 following the merger of NALGO with the two other local government trade unions, the National Union of Public Employees and the Confederation of Health Service Employees.

The banner was designed by local shop stewards Sue O'Neil and Dave Hall and was made in 1991. It was carried on many of the large demonstrations of the 1990s including the great miners protests in 1992.

The sun and moon represent the 24 hour-a-day service provided by council workers and the letters Humberside represent the Humber bridge. The fist and rose are symbols of the labour movement.

Materials: Banner of hand painted red twill-woven cotton and lined with green synthetic fabric.
