A poster made by the anti-apartheid movement in the UK, calling for the British government to place sanctions on South African goods in order to protest the system of apartheid. These include a photograph of a guard with a gun, riot police, a Black man adressing a crowd, and a crowd of Black people.
Apartheid was a system in South Africa which meant that racial segregation was enforced by law. South Africa also extended these laws over to Namibia (then South West Africa), one of the last countries in Africa to gain independence. Apartheid formally ended in South Africa in 1990, followed by Namibia gaining independence.
