A white poster with black text reading: "PARLIAMENTARY ELECTION FOR THE LEEK CONSTITUENCY / 1. an Election is to be held of a Member to serve in Parliament for the said Constituency. 2. Nomination Papers may be delivered by the candidate or his proposer or seconder to the Depucty Acting Returning Officer at 6 RUSSEL STREET, LEEK, between the hours of ten in the morning and three in the afternoon (or in a Saturday between those of ten in the morning and noon) on any day after the date of this notice, but not later than the TWENTY-EIGHTH day of SEPTEMBER, 1959. 3. Forms of Nomination Paper may be obtained at the place and times aforesaid. The Deputy Acting Returning Officer, will at the request of the Elector, prepare for signature a nomination paper. 4. If the Election is contested, the Poll will take place on the EIGHTH day of OCTOBER, 1959. / (Signed) T.H.EVANS, TWENTY-SECOND day of SEPTEMBER, 1959. Acting Returning Officer. / NOTE 1. The attention of Candidates and Electors is drawn to the rules for filling up Nomination Papers and other provisions relting to nomination contained in the Parliamentary election rules in the second schedule to Representation of the People act, 1949. 2. Every person guilty of a corrupt or illegal act will, on conviction, be liable to the penalties imposed by the Representation of the Peopke Act, 1949."
