The title of this banner, when translated to English is 'To the English delegation of the Trade Unions' and comes from the Soviet Union during the 1920s. It is part of the Trade Union Council (TUC) collection and illustrates the efforts of trade unionists to co-operate internationally in the early 20th century. Following the 1917 Russian Revolution that replaced the capitalist industrial system with a Communist one, many delegations from British trade unions visited the newly established Soviet Union to try and see ways that workers rights in Britain could be improved through Communist practices.

Please note that the majority of the text on this banner has not been transcribed or translated as the museum staff do not have the necessary language skills. We welcome corrections on this translation from fluent Russian speakers.
