Description
A leaflet produced for the 'Better Together' campaign in 2013, arguing against Scottish devolution from the UK in the upcoming referendum on Scottish independence in September 2014.
This leaflet argues that Scottish independence would weaken the Scottish economy, welfare, and job market. The front page text reads: "The best of both worlds for Scotland. A successful Scottish parliament delivering for Scotland & the strenght of being part of a bigger United Kingdom". Inside, statistics and testemonies argue that remainin in the UK is best for taxpayers due to the higher than average public spend per head, best for trading as the majority of business trandactions take place within the UK, and that keeping the £ is best for mortgages.
One page is a tear off freepost survey assessing voting attitudes in the upcoming referendum.
This artefact would have been distributed in pubic spaces (e.g. shopping centres) and dropped door to door in letterboxes.
