Description
Small badge featuring the Pride rainbow flag as the background, with text reading "better together" over the top and a border of white stripes around the edge.
This badge was produced for the successful 'Better Together' campaign in 2013, arguing against Scottish separation from the UK in the referendum on Scottish independence in September 2014.
Rainbow colours and flags have been associated with the LGBTQIA community since 1978 when gay artist Gilbert Baker designed the rainbow flag as a symbol of pride. The original design had eight colours with their own meanings, but the simplified six-colour rainbow is more commonly used today (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet.)
