Description
The first poster in a set of two, "Trade and the Two", 1910.
A man, woman and boy look into a shop window where they can see a loaf of bread. A noticeboard above says "Free Trade Loaf made from American Wheat". Underneath the image is a caption 'British Workman: - "There's the BIG LOAF they told me about, sure enough; but I've been out of work these three months, and how am I to buy it?'"
This poster aims to highlight the theory that Free Trade would take away from British jobs and cause high unemployment.
