Description
"Working Men Wake Up!", Liberal Party poster, around 1910
This poster shows a typical depiction of a worker for this time period, lying on the ground. He is being tied down with various ropes steaked into the ground, which read: Land; Monopoly; Feudalism; Despotism; Privilege; Lords; Veto; Vested Interests; Plural Voting; Liquor Interests; and Mining Royalties. These have been tied by small figures dressed as Lords, who surround the worker. Another Lord is bringing chains to the worker, labelled 'Food Taxes'
