A white poster made with cardboard reading "WANTED Merrick Turner Clancy Steer Watkins OUT", 1972. There is an illustration of five boxes, each with two bars and a pair of red hands gripping them. During the 1972 dock strike, five members of the TGWU (Transport and General Workers Union) were arrested on the picket line - Bernie Steer, Vic Turner, Derek Watkins, Cornelius Clancy and Anthony Merrick. This poster was part of a campaign demanding their release from Pentonville prison, backed by a national strike organised by the TGWU. They were released as a result. This poster has been signed by each of the men in ballpoint pen next to where their names appear printed on the poster. Large red text at the bottom reads "PRINTED AT BRIANT COLOUR PRINTING / Joint Chapels Work In" Condition: cardboard has yellowed and curled at the edges, there is a rip in the upper
right corner
