Black Samsonite bag with brown leather trim. This bag was given to Marzia Babakarhail, the donor, by her mother as a present to congratulate her on her success in the legal field in Afghanistan. Marzia worked as a lawyer and judge in Afghanistan, and founded a charity to help women and girls in the country. She was targeted by the Taliban and fled to Pakistan, where her life was again targeted. Marzia fled to the UK with only this bag and a few posessions, claiming asylum when she arrived. Her claim was approved and she has lived in the UK ever since.
