NUPE was a British trade union which existed between 1908 and 1993. It represented public sector workers in local government, the health service, universities, and water authorities. NUPE was particularly active in the mobilisation of employees against the attacks on trade union organisation and workers' rights by the Conservative government led by Margaret Thatcher during the 1980s.

In 1993, NUPE merged with the National and Local Government Officers Association (NALGO) and Confederation of Health Service Employees (COHSE) to form UNISON.
