Description
This is a plastic badge with a metal backing. The back has a metal pin attached. The front is white with a red circular target sign. On top of this it says in large dark blue writing 'No war with Iraq.' The badge is yellowed and a little frayed.
This was most likely used from 2003, to potentially 2011 when the Iraq War ended. This began with the invasion of Iraq by the United States-led coalition which overthrew Saddam Hussein and the Iraqi government. Estimations show up to a million Iraqis died in the first 3 years - civilian casualties were vast - hence the badge calling for an end to the Iraq qar. The invasion of Iraq was part of George W. Bush's war on terror following the September 11 attacks in New York. The administration claimed the cause for invasion was that there were weapons of mass destruction program, and that Iraq war posed a threat to America - no weapons of mass destruction were found.
