Carnival! The streets for the people.' poster about Notting Hill Carnival produced by Kensington Communist Party. Around 1970. Mint green colour, with black text. There is a large photo on the right of the poster of a woman smiling and celebrsting. The text around the photograph discusses the beginning of Notting Hill carnival and the presence of young white communists and young Black communists. Discusses language around the term 'streets', and its relation to communism. Says 'streets are where police are instantly suspicious of you if you're black.' Discusses police brutality and the racism of the National Front. How carnival is an act of resistance against the establishment. Bottom of poster says Kensington Communist poster.
