Description
Placard, pen and tape on card, mounted on two wooden poles.
The placard reads "I HAD TO FLEE SYRIA BECAUSE OF THIS SHIT" with smaller writing below in different boxes reading "End state and gendered violence", "We will not be silenced", "#KILLTHEBILL" and "#RIGHTTOPROTEST".
The placard was carried in the Manchester 'Kill the Bill' protest against elements in the Police and Crime Bill in March 2021. The Bill proposed limits to protest, including limits on noise levels, as well as introducing trespass as a criminal matter (previously, trespass has always been a civil issue and so does not result in a criminal record).
