Description
Crocheted banner/blanket, made to thank Key Workers during the Covid-19 pandemic, 2020.
The banner was made by a group of around 15 people in isolation during the first UK lockdown of 2020. Each person made 'granny squares' which were then collected together and sewn to form the banner. On top, the words "Care for those who care for us" were sewn. The group did not know each other, and each square was deposited at the organiser's house - she collected them together to produce the blanket/banner, which was then hung outside of Chorlton pricinct until the winter of 2020, when it was brought down to protect it from the harsh winter weather.
