Description
Green poster with headline text 'REBEL' in black. Under the headline, there are notes explaining why Extinction Rebellion activists 'are rebelling against the government for its crimes against humanity', imploring people to join in mass direct action. Beneath the explanatory notes in bold is written 'Because we are so very nearly out of time' and the Extinction Rebellion logo.

The reasons for rebellion on the poster are:

'- For 30 years scientists have been telling governments climate change will kill us.

- During this time they have allowed emissions to increase by 60% and they're still going up.

- The forests are burning, the temperatures are soaring, people are dying.

- The lives of the younger generation are in the balance.'

Direct action is the main form of activism engaged in by the climate change activist group Extinction Rebellion (XR). Direct action is a form of protest that can include occupying spaces, blocking roads, disrupting events and more. The goal is to disrupt public life so the target organisation, in this case the UK government, will feel pressured to acceed to the protesters demands.
