"To end the housing scandal Britain needs socialism" poster, around 1980 This poster argues that the cure for the housing crisis is socialism. In the 1970's and 1980's Britain experienced a lack of social housing and a lot of parties aimed to tackle this in their election pledges. On this poster the Communist Party suggest an end to private landlordism, end private renting, and reducing home loan interest rates as solutions to the housing crisis. The poster features a black and white photograph of a block of flats. It has a pink background with black text. Words at the top of the photograph read "To end the housing scandal" whilst words at the bottom read "Britain needs socialism". Black text at either side of the photograph outlines reasons or the housng crisis and how the Communist Party suggests combatting it. At the bottom of the photo there is an image of women and children at a protest for more social housing. The poster was printed by Farleigh Press and published by the Communist Party of Great Britain. The photographs used are courtesy of the Morning Star newspaper.
