Description
A poster advertising an event organised by the Communist Party of Great Britain, "The People's Festival". The People's Festival was held on Sunday 18th June 1978 as a celebration of socialist thought and ideas. The event was held at Alexandra Palace in London and had a variety of events on such as open forums, theatre, jazz, film festivals, dancing, sports, and political rallies. Over 11,000 people attended the event. This poster has a white background and a red border. Multiple cartoon drawings cover the page, each one accompanied by text advertising an event or activity. The top left corner of the poster features a drawing of a stage, and multiple people singing and playing instruments above a banner that reads "Unity". Next to this in the top right corner, large black text reads "The People's Festival" with red text underneath giving the date "Sunday June 18th".
