The poster has a brown patterned border, in the style of William Morris' art. Underneath the picture it says "William Morris 150 Anniversary year/1834-96." Underneath this there are three rows of the Calendar year. Underneath the calendar it says "Author, Philosopher, Artist and Revolutionary." There are influences of his artwork across the poster. The border is beige and brown, as is the calendar and other writing. William Morris was an artist, novelist, author and socialist activist. He was prominent in the revival of traditional textile arts and methods of production. Morris supported Marxism and was influenced by anarchism - he became a committed revolutionary socialist activist and founded the socialist league in 1884 after involvement with the Social Democratic Federation. At the bottom it says it was published by the CPGB and lists the address.
