Description
Large green, white and yellow communist party poster. This is advertising a celebratory event called "Popular Fronts revisited." A popular front is "A popular front is "any coalition of working-class and middle-class parties", including liberal and social-democratic ones, "united for the defence of democratic forms" against "a presumed Fascist assault". The top of the poster says 1935-1985. Underneath there is a large 'P' with a photograph of people inside the top of the letter. They are wearing hats, smiling and eating. Underneath it says the rest of the title "popular fronts to be revisited. Lessons to be learned." "A celebration event in London with photos, archive films and discussions." The rest of the poster offers details and times on the day, saying "10-12:30 workshops: What was the popular front?- Martin Myant, Popular Fronts and Culture - Margot Heinemann and Colin Chambers, Popular Fronts in Spain - Sam Russell, East End Popular Fronts against Fascism - Solly Kaye & Phil Piratin." The bottom right of the poster details when and where the event took place.
