Description
A white poster with a picture of a boy smiling. Orange text reads "LABOUR FOR THE FUTURE" with black text reading "New generations deserve a new world / A vote for Labour means a chance for youth!"

This poster was produced for the 1945 general election, the first election of the post-war period which saw a Labour victory with Clement Atlee as Prime Minister. This landslide victory for Labour was attributed in part to their social improvement policies, including house building.

This poster was designed by Philip Zec (1909 - 1983). Zec was a well known left wing cartoonist, who had been a war artist for the Daily Mirror newspaper. He refused payment for the commission, seeing it as his contribution to the election campaign.
