A small white poster with red letters reading "WHICH WAY FOR SOCIALISTS? / THE CASE FOR THE COMMUNIST PARTY / By John Gollan / 4p", 1958. John Gollan was a lifelong socialist, trade union activist, and member of the Communist Party of Great Britain. He first got involved in politics during the general strike of 1926, after which he joined the Young Communist League (YCL) and went on to be elected general secretary of the Communist Party in 1954. Gollan wrote for the Daily Worker, the Communist Party's official newspaper, and released a number of publications with the Communist Party advocating for socialism in Britain. This pamphlet, 'Why way for socialists?' was published in 1958 by Farleigh Press.
