Description
A cartoon strip by cartoonist 'Hob-Nob' titled 'The Front Line'. The first panel features a woman buying meat from a man. Behind the seller a sign reads "PRICES UP". The second panel shows the same scene from a different angle with a sign reading "NO EGGS". In the third panel there are question marks surrounding the woman's head as the sign reads "NO SUPPLIES". In the fourth, the woman is angry whilst a sign reads "PRICES UP AGAIN". In the fifth she leaves up a staircase titled 'FOOD CONTROL'. In the sixth she enters the office only to be met with the same man from before. Pencil drawings line the right hand side of the comic panel, as if someone has tried to copy the comic next to the panels. Handwriting at the top reads "... Please return ... Daily Worker ... Lime". Measurements have been drawn along the left hand side of the comic strip, labelled '6 1/2 " between front' and at the bottom '2 " 8'. The comic strip has been placed inside a plastic sleeve for conservation purposes as it
is old and yellowed with the edges tearing in some places.
