Description
A white poster featuring a topographic style map of Argentina overlaid with the outline of the South American continent. Within the outline, Marxist revolutionary and guerrilla leader Che Guevara's face is depicted using the colours blue and red. Black text at the bottom of the poster reads "8 de Octubre / DIA DEL GUERILLERO HEROICO" (roughly translated as "October 8th / Day of the heroic guerrilla". The poster was made by the Revolutionary Guidance Commission. The date of October 8th references the day of Guevara's capture and execution in Bolivia, where he was trying to incite a revolution but failed due to CIA intelligence becoming aware of his location and advising the Bolivian military of his encampment.
