Part of "100 posters, socialist image, designed by Ettore Vitale for the direction of the Italian Socialist Party." This is part of a collection of one hundred Italian Socialist Party posters designed by artist, Ettore Vitale. This poster is large, with a white background. The top half of the poster has multi-coloured writing in the background saying "primomaggio" - this is repeated with blue, red and green writing. This means "May 1." Underneath this there is a blue and green lines with black text inbetween, this translates to "May 1st government development, create more jobs." There is the Italian Socialist party logo at the bottom, with a rede carnation in the centre. The 1 May is International workers'day, also know as Labour day. This is a celebration of labourers and the working classes that is promoted by the international Labour movementand occurs every year on May 1. It was abolished under the fascist regime and was restored after the second world war - May Day is now an important celebration in Italy and is a national holiday. This poster is in good condition. The poster was created in 1988.
