Description
An A4 page featuring an original pencil artwork from 'Peterloo: Witnesses to a Massacre', a graphic novel created by Robert Poole in 2019 in order to mark the 200th anniversary of the massacre. The artwork depicts a scene from the graphic novel in which the Yeomanry charge the gathered crowd; pictured is one guard on a horse with his sword raised above his head as the crowd back away. Banners and flags can be seen above the heads of the crowd and the concerned faces of men and women are a focal point. This is an early stage drawing and so therefore does not have colour, only the pencil lines that were used to design the concept. The drawing was done by Polyp in 2018, one of the illustrators of the graphic novel, ahead of its publication in 2019.
