Description
A sticker reading "Tatchell Labour", produced for the Bermondsey by-election in 1983. Peter Tatchell was an activist and human rights campaigner, best known for his work with LGBT organisations. In 1983 Tatchell stood as a candidate for Labour in the Bermondsey by-election, despite being denounced by Michael Foot, the party's leader at the time. Due to a homophobic campaign against him, Tatchell lost the election to the Liberal Party. The sticker has a red background with yellow graphics. "Tatchell Labour" is written in red within a yellow banner at the top of the sticker, with a cartoon drawing of Tower Bridge underneath. The sticker was produced by Dave Fryer and printed by Fly Press.
