Description
A yellow post featuring an illustration of a smiling mother and daughter at an open window. The slogan is 'A million new homes. Thanks to Labour.'

The Labour Party's 1950 election campaign materials focused on their successes during their time in government since 1950. This poster focuses on their house building campaign.

Following World War II, many of the nation's homes needed to be rebuilt as they had been damaged or destroyed during the Blitz, when Germany bombed the UK. Extensive and rapid house building was a policy that helped Labour to win the 1945 general election. Labour won the 1950 general election, and Clement Attlee continued as Prime Minister.
