Pietro Sandro Nenni was an Italian socialist politician, the national secretary of the Italian Socialist Party and lifetime Senator since 1970. He was a recipient of the Stalin Peace Prize in 1951. He was one of the founders of the Italian Republic and a central figure of the Italian left from the 1920s to the 1960s. He lived in exile from 1926 in Paris, during this time he made a contribution to the survival of the Italian Socialist Party.
