In the 1930s Britain suffered from severe recession. Those who remembered the period associated its problems with the Conservative and National Governments. This Labour Party election poster attempts to persuade voters that a vote for the Conservatives would mean a return to that grim pre war period. Labour won the 1950 general election which this poster was produced for, and Clement Attlee continued as Prime Minister.
