Description
Postcard with a photograph of women on a horse and carriage. The carriage has several signs and banners that say "votes for women" and "rights for women." This is a suffragette protest. The reverse side of the postcard says "Selling the newspaper, the "votes for women" bus photograph 1909. 'A novel way of advertising the new issue (of the suffragette newspaper) was adopted on Friday and Saturday last week, when an omnibus covered in notices in the purple, white and green of the Union was drawn through the principal streets of the west end...'Votes for women, October 1909."
