Description
Postcard with a photographic montage and white text at the bottom, reading "PREVENT STREET CRIME." The image shows a woman and presumably her child walking together, with an image of Margaret Thatcher behind them, trying to steal something from the woman's bag. This image was produced by Cath Tate who began making anti-Thatcher photomontages on postcards and posters including the image of Mrs Thatcher pinching someone's handbag 'Prevent Street Crime'.
The image was created from a photo Cath took of her friend and toddler which she later cut into this montage. The image and text is suggesting that Thatcher was exploiting and stealing from ordinary people.
