On Remembrance Day wear a white poppy for peace

Date
1980-2000

Description
An A5 postcard featuring a photograph of poppies, mostly red with a few white poppies in the centre. White text reads: "On Remembrance Day wear a white poppy for peace" and has the Peace Pledge Union's website at the bottom. The white poppy is handed out by a charity called Peace Pledge Union, which promotes peace. They say that the white poppy commemorates people who died in conflict, but focuses on achieving peace and challenging the way we look at war.

Text on the back reads: "Our international white poppy project challenges the beliefs, values and institutions that make war inevitable, and presents an alternative view of security and how to achieve it without violence. The Peace Pledge Union has been distributing white poppies since 1934. Be sure to get yours today from www.ppu.org.uk and help promote a culture of peace."
