Description
A card produced by Yes Cymru, a movement dedicated to the goal of an independent Wales. The card depicts a group of people holding flags, amongst which are the Welsh flag and a red flag reading "Cofiwch Dryweryn" (English: Remember Tryweryn), referring to the flooding of Tryweryn Valley, including the community of Capel Celyn, by the Liverpool council in 1957. The flooding occured in order to build a resevoir which would supply Liverpool and Wirrel with water for industry, but was done without the consent of Welsh authorities and against the wishes of most Welsh Members of Parliament. The slogan "Cofiwch Dryweryn" ("Remember Tryweryn") was grafitti'd onto a wall near Llanrhystud and remains a popular political slogan.
