Description
Poster advertising a Demob Rally, organised by the Daily Worker.

White poster with an illustration of a man and a woman drawn to look as if they are marching, witin a bowler hat. The text of the poster reads "Demobbed! Then why not accept the invitation of the Editoral Board of the Daily Worker and come alon to the Demob Rally which will be held at the Memorial Hall - Farringdon Street, London, E.C.4 - Saturday 27th April"

Beneath this, the poster gives information on the rally, including the topics "Housing, Employment, Vocational Training, and Rehabilitation", and in the bottom left corner (facing) is a separate box advertising tickets to a dance which was to follow the rally.

This poster would have been published in 1946, following the large-scale demobilisation of the British Armed Forces after the Second World War, colloquially known as 'demobbing' or 'demob'. The reassimlation to civil life following the war was a significant issue for many returning servicemen and women.
