Description
Poster advertising an anthology of poetry by Jose Enrique Corvalan Valencia, also known as Enrique Corvalan. The anthology is titled Poems From The Sad Country, and was produced by the Chile Solidarity Campaign.

The poster shows an image of a body, possibly dead or injured, with the top of its head facing the viewer and arms outstretched as if seeking help. In the background are two armed soldiers on foot, and two atop tanks. Above is a clouded sky.

Enrique Corvalan was a Chilean poet, and one of the 'disappeared prisoners'. These men and women were arrested under the Military Dictatorship of Pinochet, following the coup in 1973. Once arrested, they were never heard from again; they were murdered and their bodies buried in undisclosed locations. The exact number of disappeared is unknown, and many graves have yet to be found. Corvalan was arrested in July 1976 and never seen again.
