Description
Poster advertising the 8th Victor Jara Festival, 1987.

The poster is purple and white, featuring a stylised image of a dove, representing peace, which doubles as a broken guitar stem, representing the damage done to arts and music under the Pinochet regime, where many musicians were actively targeted and even murdered. Within the outline of the guitar are the names of some of the acts performing, including Osvaldo, Incantation, and Patricio.

The Victor Jara festival was a music festival highlighting Latin American music, mostly of those in exile from repressive regimes. The festival was named after Victor Jara, who was a musician associated with the Allende regime in Chile, who was tortured and murdered by the Pinochet regime after the military coup in 1973.
