Description
Poster, "No a la impunidad"

The poster is white, and shows a white flower with a broken stem. Over the top reads "No a la impunidad!!" meaning "no impunity" and beneath reads"Verdad y Justicia", meaning "Truth and Justice" (translations from Google Translate). The poster was produced by the Agrupacion de Familiared de Detenidos Desaparecidos - the Group of the Familiies of Disappeared Detainees.

Following the military coup in Chile in 1973, many political opponents to the regime were arrested, tortured and 'disappeared' - they were held in secret, and were often killed. Their families could gain no information about their whereabouts or situation, and often never saw the arrested again. The AFDD group was established to bring together the families of those detained and disappeared, and they aimed to get answers from the authorities about the fate of their relatives. They were unsuccessful.
