Yellow badge, with a black image of two boys in the centre. Around the edge reads "I walk for Soweto". Soweto is a township in South Africa, now encorporated into the city of Johannesburg. Soweto was established in the 1930s as a Black "township", before the policy of apartheid, and was given the name "Soweto" in 1949 as an acronym for "South West Townships", connecting the original townships of the area into one "Black City". During the Apartheid regime, Soweto, like many other Black neighbourhoods, was violently repressed.
