Tom Robinson Band are a British rock band established in 1976, founded by the lead singer, songwriter and bassist Tom Robinson (1950-). They were overtly political and played at Rock Against Racism festivals. Robinson wrote the song 'Glad to be Gay' for a London pride parade in 1976, criticising homophobia in British society and calling for support and solidarity for gay rights. It was released as a single in 1978 and is considered a British LGBTQIA anthem.
